Getting started with Dell EMC OpenManage Enterprise – Tech Release

Baking Clouds - Getting started with Dell EMC OpenManage Enterprise - Tech Release

OpenManage Enterprise Tech Release is a new hardware management and monitoring console that provides a comprehensive view of the Dell EMC servers, chassis, network switches, and other third-party devices on the enterprise network. It is designed for the next generation of IT Professionals with a focus on simplicity, automation, and unification of data center management.

Comparing the old known Open Manage version installed in a Windows machine this refreshed version with new features makes reporting, inventory and firmware upgrade so much easier and appealing. For those who had the pleasure to use the old version I must say I was about time Dell to save us all that pain.

Features to love:

  1. HTML5 interface
  2. vAPP deployment. Post deploy tasks are only: EULA acceptance, password setup and IP configuration. Not bad.
  3. API for automation and integration. Yeah!!!!!

Recommended minimum hardware configuration for OpenManage Enterprise–Tech Release:

  • Processor: 4 cores
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Hard drive: 20 GB
