Lookahead Reader Threads Causing Slow Synthetic Full Backups and Restores Due To Excessive Library Disk Reads Operations
Commvault has detected a condition in v11 Service Pack 10 and v11 Service Pack 11 where the lookahead reader threads become out of sync with the main disk reader thread, potentially resulting in slow Synthetic Full backup performance and slow data restore performance due to excess library disk read operations. This issue can affect configurations using Disk Libraries and/or Cloud Libraries.
To resolve this issue, download the latest v11 SP10 or v11 SP11 Hotfix Packs.
The hotfix pack can be copied into the CommCell software cache, and then installed to each Media Agent. Instructions for installing Hotfix packs can be found on Commvault documentation.
